Michael Owen's daughter among new Love Island contestants unveiled today

The line-up for the latest season of Love Island has been revealed, and it includes the daughter of a very famous footballer.

Former Liverpool and Manchester United striker Michael Owen is the father of Gemma Owen, a 19 year old International Dressage Champion and Business Owner, who has been unveiled among the line up for the new season.

Gemma owns her own bikini range, called OG Beachwear, and describes herself as "very competitive".

She is joined by a collection of singletons, all looking for love, including Dubliner Dami Hope. The 26 year old microbiologist says he just wants to be himself in the new season " I don't know if I will cause trouble, I'll try not to cause trouble but sometimes you don't intentionally cause trouble – but it happens!"

Other contestants include London Waitress Indiyah Polack and 27 year old Italian native Davide Sanclimenti who currently lives in Manchester.

The ITV2 dating show returns for an eighth season on Monday next and will once again be hosted by Irish TV presenter Laura Whitmore.

This year the TV show has partnered with eBay and the contestants will be provided with a wardrobe of second hand clothes.
