The Waterford International Film Festival has been presented with the Remarkable Arts Festival EFFE Label by the European Festival Association.
The Label is Europe's quality mark for remarkable arts festivals showing their engagement in the field of arts, community involvement, and international openness.
The EFFE International Jury and the EFFE Hubs made the announcement to the Waterford International Film Festival yesterday and presented them with the Label for this year's season.
“This will contribute towards promoting our festival in Europe and beyond. We look forward to working with the EFA on the promotion of our organisations,” Festival Director Stephen Byrne said.
The Festival is now open for submissions for short films, short scripts, and creative photographs for their three annual competitions. The deadline for entries is the 23rd of July.
European Festival Association
The European Festival Association's mission is to unite and represent its member festivals across Europe and the rest of the world by contributing to the artistic life of Europe.
They connect roughly 100 festivals and festival associations in 40 different countries. Members are the core element that make the Association an open, influential, and international place for any festival that wants to be part of a bigger community.
