Waterford winners announced ahead of upcoming Irish Restaurant Awards

The Waterford winners have been announced ahead of the upcoming Irish Restaurant Awards.

The Munster Regional Awards were held in the Great Southern Hotel in Killarney last night, where 17 category winners from each respective county were revealed.

In Waterford, Momo took home the accolade of Best Restaurant. The Pub of the Year title went to Tully's Bar in Waterford City.

The Best Cafe crown went to La Alegria Cafe while the Best Newcomer accolade went to Eamo and Ro.

Geoff's Cafe Bar was crowned Best Gastro Pub while the Best Hotel and Guesthouse is the House Restaurant at the Cliff House Hotel.

In terms of individual awards, Daniel Zachorawiecz of the Tannery Dungarvan was crowned Best Restaurant Manager, Best Chef went to Luis Martin of the Old Couch Cafe, and Shane Gater of Mezze took home the Employee Excellence Award.

Waterford's Local Food Hero went to Fergal Walsh and Caitriona Keating of Dun Artisan Bakery.

Innovator of the Year: Zanzibar.

Best Sustainable Practices: GROW HQ, GIY Waterford.

Best World Cuisine: Cafe Goa.

Best Cafe: La Alegria Cafe.

Best Customer Services: Mollys.

Best Wine Experience: Adega Wine Bar.

Best Newcomer: Eamo and Ro, Kilmacthomas.

Best Contemporary Irish Cuisine: Everetts Restaurant.

Best Gastro Pub: Geoff's Cafe Bar.

Best Casual Dining: The Pier Restaurant.

Pub of the Year: Tullys Bar.

Employee Excellence Award: Shane Gater of Mezze.

Best Hotel and Guesthouse: The House Restaurant at the Cliff House Hotel, Ardmore.

Best Restaurant Manager: Daniel Zacharawiecz of The Tannery, Dungarvan.

Best Chef: Luis Martin of the Old Couch Cafe.

Best Restaurant: Momo.

The category winners will go on to represent Waterford at the All-Ireland Irish Restaurant Awards that take place at the Clayton Hotel, Burlington Road, Dublin 4 on May 20th.
