Lifetime Achievement awarded to local Spraoi legend

A local Spraoi legend has been recognised for his contributions to Waterford.

The Waterford Massed Bands "Lifetime Achievement" award went to T.V. Honan at a sell-out gala concert at the Sacred Heart church the Folly last night.

T.V. is best known as the founder of the annual Spraoi festival held in Waterford City.

Addressing the audience, T.V. says it's the support of the people that got him where he is today.

"I have been very lucky in life. I have found myself in the right place at the right time with the right people.

"My job is to be in midfield, and when you have players of this quality, all I have to do is get the ball into them and they will do the rest."
