NTA presents revised Tramore 360/360A bus route

The revised Tramore 360/360A bus route has been announced following a meeting held by the NTA and local councillors earlier today.

Much controversy surrounded the revised changes, including the complete suspension of the Riverstown spur causing frustration among local residents, which was later reversed.

Speaking to WLR news this afternoon, councillor Joe Kelly outlined the proposed changes below.

  • It's hoped the new service can begin early November but drivers need to be recruited and some Bus Stop locations agreed on.
  • Waterford -Tramore bus service every 15 minutes until 19.00. 30-minute intervals following that time.
  • The route along Convent Hill is to be maintained.
  • No bus going through Sweetbrier
  • The first bus serving the Rivertown loop is at 07.00 approximately.
  • An early bus at 05.50 from Tramore to Waterford will allow people to catch the early train to Dublin
  • Last bus Tramore / Waterford & Waterford Tramore 11.30 pm
  • 360A bus to serve estates along the Kilbarry Road and the new Nursing Home which is about to open shortly.

Joe continued, "I warmly welcome these new changes which will significantly enhance the bus services between Waterford and Tramore and the service around Tramore. The NTA listened to my and other councillors concerns and our Oireachtas members' concerns that were strenuously raised and have resulted in this outcome for the benefit of everyone."

Senator John Cummins also welcomed the news saying he welcomed the decision.

"I welcome the fact the National Transport Authority and Bus Eireann have come back with a significantly revised proposal which addresses many of the concerns which residents and public representatives raised. It goes to show that where constructive dialogue on proposals occurs, favorable outcomes can be achieved".
