Rescue 117 were tasked to a scene in Wexford earlier today, ultimately airlifting a kite surfer who suffered serious injuries to University Hospital Waterford.
The man was kite surfing at Our Lady’s Island Lake at 12.30pm when he collided with a number of rocks. Emergency services were called to the scene and an ambulance arrived before the man was airlifted from the area.
It’s believed that the man suffered multiple fractures, though his injuries are not of a life threatening nature and it is expected that he will make a full recovery.
