Storm Betty leaves homes in Waterford without power

Almost 100 homes are without power in Waterford and surrounding areas this morning.

The ESB says there are currently outages in Kilmacthomas, Tramore and Mount Misery while power has been restored to affected areas in Lismore.

Storm Betty led to widespread power outages last night mainly in parts of the south and south east of the country, affecting 12-thousand homes, with pockets in other areas of the country too.

The majority of outages are expected to be restored by 4 pm, with some houses being out of power since 7 o'clock last night.

Videos of flooding have been put on social media from Cork, showing the main street of Carrigaline flooded.

While In Dungarvan, the Coast Guard was called out to inspect the damage to a boat after it broke free from its mooring and crashed into the harbour.
