Tionól na nDéise returns this Saturday as part of Tionól Niocláis Tóibín festival

Waterford City & County Council’s Tionól na nDéise event returns this coming Saturday as part of the weekend long Tionól Niocláis Tóibín festival.

Tionól na nDéise will take place in Coláiste na Rinne, An Rinn on Saturday, 3rd February at 3.00pm.

Marcus Mac Conghail will give a talk on the infamous Connery brothers from near Dungarvan, Co. Waterford, who were transported to New South Wales in the late 1830's, and all are welcome to attend this free event.

A writer, musician and broadcaster, Marcus Mac Conghail works with RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta. He attended Coláiste na Rinne as a child, as did his father before him. He was always interested in the sean-nós singing style and songs of the Déise.
