Mourners seeking to watch a livestream of the Funeral Service for six-year-old Matthew Healy are warned to be aware of online scams.

Numerous fake links have appeared online which purport to provide access to a livestream of the service due to take place tomorrow (Wednesday).

The Funeral Director tasked with arrangements for tomorrow's service told WLR News this morning that it has not been confirmed whether a livestream is taking place or not.

Last week, pages appeared online which asked for card details to be submitted to view the funerals of victims of the Carlow road crash tragedy.

Those seeking to view the services were then brought to an external link where an image of the deceased was used, along with funeral details, and a fake video player symbol.

WLR News has contacted An Garda Siochana and Meta for comment in relation to such scams.

Requiem Mass for Matthew, who died tragically at Rathmoylan Cove last week, will be held in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Watergrasshill at 12pm tomorrow followed by a private service in The Island Crematorium Ringaskiddy.

Update:

This evening, An Garda Siochana issued a statement saying it is aware of posts circulating on social media relating to a funeral service due to take place in Watergrasshill tomorrow.

The statement asks people not to engage with these posts and advises that anyone who wishes to watch any funeral Mass via a live stream should revert to the relevant parish or diocese directly.
