WLR Radio and Podcasting Course wraps up for 2024

The Certificate in Radio and Podcasting course, a collaborative effort between Southeast Technological University (SETU), WLR, and Beat 102-103, has successfully concluded its 2024 course. Developed to provide aspiring broadcasters with a comprehensive introduction to the operation of commercial radio and podcasting, the part-time level six course has equipped participants with essential skills and knowledge.

Led by Rob O'Connor and Orla Rapple, the Certificate in Radio and Podcasting course underscores the commitment of SETU, WLR, and Beat 102-103 to fostering talent and innovation in the audio sector. By blending theoretical knowledge with practical experiences, the course serves as a springboard for individuals seeking to pursue careers in radio and podcasting.

17 students took part this year and produced programmes and podcasts in drama, documentary, music programming, news, sport, business, lifestyle, and education.
