A planning application for the construction of almost 100 new homes has been lodged with Waterford City and County Council.
The application - submitted by Sanpol Developments Limited - seeks permission for 45 detached and semi-detached houses and 45 self-contained apartments.
A decision is expected by the end of June.
Local resident Eoin Hartery told Deise Today that the area being looked at is a beautiful natural landscape, and many locals have reservations.
