Waterford woman Roisin McDonagh says she and her three children had a "narrow escape" yesterday (Tuesday) morning at the 'Zebra' crossing in Ballygunner. Taking her children to school, she says a car hurtled at speed towards them and had to brake suddenly at the last minute to avoid a collision. Roisin says it's not the first time this has happened here; in fact, she says, it's too frequent an occurrence and something needs to be done to slow traffic down and make the crossing more visible. This morning (Wed), fed up with the situation, she donned her own 'Zebra' costume to stand at the crossing and highlight the danger there at school times.
