They are the sons of two of Ireland's most legendary musicians and now fantastic and accomplished musicians in their own right.

This morning (Wednesday) on 'Deise Today', Damien was delighted to be joined in WLR's Dungarvan studio by 'Makem and Clancy', namely Rory Makem and Donal Clancy who have a sell-out live gig tomorrow (Thursday) night at Dunhill Community Hall.

Sons of Tommy Makem and Liam Clancy, Rory and Liam are carrying on the musical legacy, stories and songs of their famous fathers.

A seasoned performer with over 32 years on the road, Rory has toured extensively with The Makem Brothers, and the Makem and Spain Brothers and for 17 years played guitar with his father, Tommy Makem. He has played sold-out venues, festivals, and theaters throughout the United States, Canada, England, Scotland and Ireland. At his best on stage, Rory captivates his audiences with charisma, passion for the songs, poetry, history, humor and skilled musicianship.

Dónal Clancy, meanwhile, is regarded as one of Ireland’s finest guitarists. Since the death of his father - the world-renowned Liam Clancy -  he has focused his attention on the family repertoire of songs that he grew up with, while keeping the Clancy tradition alive with his solo performances.

Makem and Clancy are also performing in Hotel Minella in Clonmel this coming Friday night.
