Listen back to the De La Salle College Senior Choir.

Listen back to the De La Salle College Senior Choir. Lochlann Flanagan, Oisin Cooke and Patrick O'Leary called into studio to give us the latest on the De La Salle Choir.

Founded in 2000 by the then Transition year class, this choir is a male voice choir which only has the lower voices; tenors, baritones and basses. there are over 50 members from first to sixth year. The choir rehearses once a week after school. The choir competes regularly and the members also enjoy concerts.

Recently the choir has competed in 3 choral festivals. They have won prizes in Cork, Naval and most recently New Ross.

As well as telling us all about these wins, the 3 guys also tell us about life in the choir. To the people in the group it's more than something they meet up for once a week - it is more important than that.

We also have clips from the choir singing some of their pieces. The first 'Fite Fuaite' was composed by Br. Ben Hanlon. This is an extremely complex piece as you will hear. The second is the final chorus of 'Anthem' from Chess.
