London leave it late to deny Deise footballers

London 1-13 (16)

Waterford 0-11 (11)

The Waterford senior footballers went in search of their first league win this afternoon in Ruislip, but ultimately fell short.

Paul Shankey's side took on London in their penultimate game.

The Exiles were ahead of Waterford on points difference in the Division Four table, with both sides having drawn once and lost four to date.

At half time London lead 0-06 to 0-05, with the Deise missing a penalty.

Waterford edged in front for the first time 22 minutes into the second period when they moved 0-10 to 0-09 ahead.

The Deise were then set to finish with 14 men, after a black card for Michael Curry, and three quick fire points from London turned it around late.

Tighe Barry and DJ O'Flaherty were on target before a late goal from Oran Kerr ensured it was London who took the points on offer.

A red card for Liam Fennell late on added insult to injury for the Deise, who are without a win in 364 days.
