Two Waterford people will be honoured at tonight’s Munster GAA Awards at a gala dinner in the Fota Island Resort Hotel in Cork tonight
Waterford’s Austin Flynn has secured the Hall of Fame Hurling award.
Austin hurled with Waterford from 1955 to 1967 during which they won three Munster titles, a National League and a McCarthy Cup, defeating Kilkenny in the 1959 replay.
Ballymacarbry’s Michelle Ryan is picking up the Provincial ladies footballer of the year award for her outstanding season with both club and county
Michelle played a key role in Waterford having a great season reaching a Munster Final where they narrowly lost out to Kerry, before bowing out to eventual All-Ireland champions Dublin at the All-Ireland Quarter-Final stage
Michelle also helped her club win a record 36th county title in a row this season.
