Noel Connors hoping Waterford keep up form from Cork victory

An in-form Clare team travel to Waterford for the final round in Division 1A of the National Hurling League this afternoon

Walsh Park has not yielded many victories for the Deise over the last two years.

Michael Brick Walsh gets his first start of the season in the full forward line while Stephen Bennett, DJ Foran and Patrick Curran have also been given a chance to impress up front.

Waterford defender Noel Connors says there is no extra pressure on the players in the local venue.

Noel is hoping Waterford keep up their form from the victory over Cork for the remaining games in the league: "It's not as if we're not trying, it's just the nature of sport and perhaps we're not getting as many results as we would like to at home. It's something we need to build on as a team and try to get it right but it's a challenge we that we always have to face when we go into Walsh Park - to try to represent ourselves quite well. Unfortunately when you're playing in  1A you don't always get the nicest opportunities when you're playing top class opposition."

Déise manager Derek McGrath says Clare are gaining momentum and will be hard to beat, he described them as "serious team with serious players at their disposal"

WLR will broadcast the game with commentary team Kieran O'Connor and Shane Ahearne thanks to George Corbett Skoda.

Coverage starts at 2:15pm with the action getting underway at 2:30pm.
