Ballyduff Lower claim Eastern Junior football title

Ballyduff Lower regained the Eastern Junior football title after a hard fought yet deserved 2-7 to 1-5 victory over Erin's Own in this afternoon's decider at Dunhill.

A first half goal from Eoin Cummins saw Ballyduff lead by a 1-1 to 0-3 at the end of a low scoring opening half.

The fare improved somewhat in the second period and there was just two points sepearting the sides enterting the final few minutes, before Jack Lyons netted Ballyduff's second goal to seal the win.

Dungarvan edged out Cois Bhride by 3-11 to 0-18, while last year's divisional champions Abbeyside overcame St. Carthage's on a 4-16 to 1-10 scoreline.

The Western Junior A Football Final is underway at 6:30 in Fraher Field, Sliabh gCua take on Old Parish, while Mount Sion and De La Salle meet in the Eastern Junior B Hurling Final in St. Molleran's throw-in is at 6pm.
