Searches continue for missing Waterford man

The family of a Waterford man who is missing since Sunday night are appealing to homeowners in the Dunmore Road area to check their property and surrounding lands for any sign of him.

51 year old David Coad was last seen at the Maxol Garage on the Dunmore Road at around 11.45pm, the sighting was confirmed by CCTV footage.

David is 5 foot 5 inches in height, with short grey hair and was wearing a dark tshirt, dark trousers and dark shoes at the time.

Fiona Coad is his sister-in-law, she told WLR that it's very unusual. She says they're working today on establishing his movements after he left the garage. "We're appealing for any drivers with dash-cams, any dog walkers, people going home from the pub that night, or that were just out in that area, rack your brains. Think, did you see a lone male, with short grey hair, wearing dark clothing? It would really really help if they could give any information to Gardai in Waterford on 051 305300."

Fiona Coad is appealing to people in the Dunmore Road and wider areas including Ballygunner and Williamstown Road areas to give up five minutes of their time to help. "Go and check your properties, your sheds, any outbuildings, any private lane ways or entrances, even hedgerows. There's a possibility, because of an old brain injury, that David was quite disorientated and may have had a medical episode. That's why we're really pushing the land search. It's important that we can definitely start to cross off areas as soon as possible.

The first publicly aided search took place last night, where 130 people showed up to help. Fiona Coad says they will be repeating that this evening. They're asking people to meet at Oskars Bar at 6.00pm. "By then we'll know the additional areas we need searched tonight."
