Waterford FC taste defeat in dramatic Munster derby clash with Limerick

Waterford were awarded a penalty on 2 minutes when Noel Hunt was fouled, Paul Keegan stepped up, but Limerick goalkeeper Tommy Holland dived to his right for the save.

Limerick were reduced to 10 men following the incident after Eoin Wearing was sent off for protesting.

The home side were awarded a penalty of their own on 34 minutes, with Billy Dennehy converting.

The Blues were also reduced to 10 men after defender Dave Webster was sent off  just before half time for a second yellow card offense.

A stunning solo effort from Bastien Héry early in the second half, which saw the midfielder slot home after a 75 yard run, put the visiting Waterford side back in contention.

However a 35-yard strike from Limerick captain Shane Duggan on 83 minutes found the net, closing out the tie for the home side.
