There was sadness across the country last week when it was announced that legendary singer Brendan Bowyer had passed away.
The King of the Showband Era was born in Baileys New Street in Waterford on the 12th October 1938 and began his career with The Royal Showband in 1957.
He was given the freedom of the city in 2011
He passed away on May 28th at the age of 81 in his adopted home in Las Vegas.
