The country's top health officials are recommending Level two restrictions be extended for a further three weeks.
The National Public Health Emergency Team says it's seriously concerned about the spread of Covid-19.
NPHET's statement comes after 442 cases of the virus were confirmed today, and four more deaths.
It says it's noticed a 'further deterioration' from last week.
Waterford was not included among the counties with high Covid-19 cases for the third day
170 of today's cases were in Dublin, 47 in Cork, 28 in Donegal, 23 in Meath, 21 in Galway, 20 in Monaghan, 14 in Clare, 12 in Roscommon, 11 in Laois, 11 in Longford, 10 in Cavan, 10 in Limerick, 10 in Tipperary, 9 in Kildare, 8 in Wicklow, 5 in Louth and 5 in Wexford with the remaining 28 cases in 9 counties.
The 14 day incidence rate of Covid-19 fell further today in Waterford with the number of cases per 100,000 people dropping to 52.5.
The 5 day average for cases is now 412 and 18 counties have an increased incidence rate when compared with last week.
Cases are growing by about 5% a day.
NPHET says it's particularly concerned about the severity of recent infections, with 119 people in hospital with 20 in critical care and there were 32 deaths in September.
NPHET recommends no more than 2 households should meet at any given time.
People should only have a maximum of 6 visitors from 1 other household to their home.
NPHET has further advised that Government extend the Level 2 measures currently in place for a further period of three weeks, while Donegal and Dublin's level 3 restrictions will be reviewed next week.
