Pop-up Covid test centre in Dungarvan will remain open until Friday

A walk-in Covid-19 test centre in Dungarvan has been extended until Friday (July 2nd) following an outbreak in the west of the county.
The South East HSE say they're continuing to work to control the outbreak in the West Waterford area, which is understood to be in the region of 120 cases over the past week.
In a statement issued to WLR, the HSE’s Public Health Department in the South East said:
'We're grateful for the continuing co-operation of individuals affected in assisting staff in all aspects of management of this and other outbreaks and for the excellent uptake of testing through the Dungarvan pop-up testing facility."
The free “Pop up, walk-in/no appointment necessary” Covid- 19 test centre was established on the grounds of Dungarvan Community Hospital, operating daily from Thursday 24th of June last and is now scheduled to run until Friday July 2nd inclusive.
Meanwhile, in the Waterford city area, the HSE’s standing COVID-19 ongoing Testing Centre located in Kilcohan, Waterford (Eircode X91 EY73) continues to operate as normal and can be attended on a walk-in, no appointment necessary basis.
The Centre in Waterford city is open seven days a week from 8.30am to 1pm and from 2pm to 7pm each day. The centre in Kilcohan is open to all ages (under 16s accompanied).
In a statement, the South East branch of the HSE said: "The HSE continues to remind everyone at this time of “the basics” in protecting one’s self and others from the spread of COVID-19 and counsels that if you have symptoms, even if they are mild, do not attend work or social gatherings and get tested for COVID-19.
"As instanced by cases of COVID-19 continuing to present daily in every county, the possibility of the Delta variant is an obvious threat. In addition to continued vigilance, the increased uptake of vaccinations is an important tool in keeping everyone as safe as possible and the HSE would encourage everyone to avail of the COVID-19 vaccine when their turn comes around."
