Declan deBarra is showrunner on one of the biggest Netflix series this year

And he's from Waterford!

Declan de Barra is the creator, showrunner, and executive producer for The Witcher - Blood Origin, the highly anticipated prequel to Netflix’s The Witcher.

He is currently in post-production on The Witcher - Blood Origin, which launched on Christmas day.

Declan also worked as a supervising producer and writer on Season 1 of The Witcher, writing episode 4 “Of Bastards, Banquets and Burials” and as co-executive producer on season two, writing episode 1, “A Grain of Truth”. He also contributed to a number of
songs on the season 1 soundtrack.

Declan also co-wrote the songs featured in Blood origin with composer Bear McCreary.

Outside of creating for The Witcher universe, Declan was a co-executive producer on Stephen King’s Chapelwaite for FX, producer and writer for Season 2 of Iron Fist for Marvel/Netflix, and co-producer and writer for multiple seasons of CW’s The Originals.
