As the UK launches its first spacecraft from home soil, rocket watchers need only step outside for a chance to watch the rocket race across the sky.

Huge advancements have been made in spacecraft over the last decade and until now those of us in Europe have been content with watching the live-streamed launches. That all changes tonight as 'Cosmic Girl' will be visible in the sky across Ireland, the UK and parts of Europe.

The craft is set to take off from Spaceport Cornwall after the launch window opens at 22:1 pm tonight.
