Waterford have lost out in the All-Ireland Minor A Camogie Final at Nowlan Park this evening.
The Deise went into the game looking to claim their first ever title at this level but it is Tipperary who lifted the trophy as a fantastic display from their forwards gave the Premier their first crown since 2016.
The Premier raced into a 2-4 to no score lead against their near neighbours - with Lucy Kennedy firing 1-2 in the opening eight minutes either side of two Caoimhe Stakelum efforts, before Ava Bevans, daughter of former Waterford senior hurling coach Michael, fired to the net to widen the gap to ten points early on.
Maggie Gostl got Waterford's opening score of the day from a free, and tacked on another after a Rebecca Farrell score - but Mark English's side returned to the dressing rooms 2-4 to 0-3 down at the interval.
Tipperary came out firing at the start of the second half with three more points including a fine effort from Lucy Heffernan, as Gostl tried to keep the Deise effort going but it was to little avail.
The Premier led by ten going into the final ten minutes in Kilkenny and try as they might, Waterford couldn't match their opponents - substitute Aisling Bonnar (2) and Gostl pointed late scores but it proved consolation as a superb point from Elana McGrath further emphasised Tipperary's dominance.
Danielle Butler made a superb stop late on to tip over a rasping effort from Gostl - and it was goals that proved crucial in the end. It finished Tipperary 2-09 Waterford 0-10 - commiserations to the Deise. Tipperary are All Ireland Minor Camogie champions for 2024.
