Waterford Viking Marathon winner "Very Happy" with his success

Tudor Moldovan has won this year's WLR Waterford Viking Marathon.

The Clonliffe Harriers man crossed the line in a time of 2 hours 30 mins and 4 seconds.

Speaking to WLR at the finish line he said he was "Very happy, especially with a tough course like this. The first 25k was very tough with the front wind, but I knew if I was out first nobody would catch me in the second part. I'm not a full-time athlete, I have a job so in this perspective I'm happy that I won the marathon".

Waterford AC's Noel Murphy was second home just over four minutes behind Moldovan with Myles Gibbons in third, 11 minutes adrift of the winner.
