Waterford College of Further Education launches its three year plan

Waterford College of Further Education launches its three year plan

It's hoped new and improved campus facilities are on the way for Waterford College of Further Education.

The college has launched its three year plan following a year-long consultation with staff, students and stakeholders.

It's anticipated that a proposed move to WIT's College Street campus will allow the college to double in size.

Currently over 800 students are based out of the WCFE building on Parnell Street, but the capacity for College Street is 2,000.

Gerard Morgan, Principal of WCFE, says the move to a new campus there would allow the college expand significantly.

Plans are already at an advanced stage for eight new courses at WCFE in the areas of security studies, psychology, beauty therapy, animal health and dog grooming.

Kevin Lewis Chief of Executive of Waterford Wexford Education Training Board says enhancing the college's facilities takes time, but he's confident it will happen.
