Almost €20,000 has been raised for the WLR Christmas Appeal in aid of the Saint Vincent de Paul in Waterford by the the Waterford Warriors 24 hour row. The event got underway at 10am on Friday morning and finished at 10am on Saturday with over 200 hundred people taking part at the Waterford Warriors gym in the Six Cross Roads Business Park.
The idea for the fundraiser came about from owner Gary Walsh, who told WLR that he has had brilliant support from his members.
The Drive Home was live from Waterford Warriors on Friday from 3-6pm with WLR’s Ollie Carroll DJing live at the gym during the event.
The Christmas Appeal continues this week with many more exciting events including exclusive preview screening of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Waterford’s biggest ever coffee morning ‘Care for a Cuppa‘, the VIP Auction, Red To Work and the Farmview Auction.
