The Taoiseach has highlighted the development of Waterford’s North Quays as a priority measure in the National Planning Framework.
The government is due to unveil the plan for Ireland’s development up until 2040 in Sligo on Friday.
In it provision will be made for more than 60 million euro to support the development of the north quays.
Opposition to the overall plan say the government is engaging in ‘skulduggery’ by not allowing a Dáil vote on the plan before it’s implemented.
To heavy opposition the Taoiseach says there’s no need for a Dáil vote on the plan.
