Two men have been detained at Waterford Garda Station in connection with a knifepoint robbery in the City

Gardaí in Waterford have thanked members of the public for their assistance in dealing with a suspected armed robbery in the City last night.

Two men are being held in custody in connection with the incident, which happened at the Maxol Garage in Kingsmeadow at around 12:10am.

A knife and a sum of money were recovered by gardaí after they apprehended the two suspects.
