Two people arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence

Two people were arrested in Waterford yesterday at a checkpoint on the N25 near Lemybrien.

As part of a comprehensive Bank Holiday Road Safety campaign, Gardai from the Waterford County Community Engagement area conducted roadside tests for the presence of alcohol and drugs.

Two people tested positive and were arrested on suspicion of intoxicated driving.

They will appear before the courts at a later date.
