Half Marathon Winner Freddy Stuk spoke to WLR at the finish line and admitted that today's blazing heat was his main obstacle.

"It was so warm and so humid, so it was a bit difficult," he said, "but it was well arranged, there was a lot of water along the way."

He told WLR that he previously won the Viking Half Marathon, but that today's heat made it a whole new experience.

Earlier Andrew Connick of Ferrybank FC was first over the line in the quarter distance in 37 minutes 58 seconds, David Mansfield, Clonmel AC second and Noel Murphy, Waterford AC in 3rd.
