Members of 'Take Back the City' and 'People Before Profit' mounted a picket outside the Courthouse in Waterford City this morning.
They say that eleven families are before the courts today as vulture funds, banks and landlords seek eviction orders against them
Local People Before Profit representative Úna Dunphy told WLR News that activists wanted to see the legal process applied first hand.
"We've been talking to people about what the process involves," she said, "there's a lot of stories about people trying to engage with banks and the banks not engaging back with them."
She says evictions add to the crisis, adding that removing people from their homes should only be used as a last resort.
"It people are engaging they should be looked after and left to stay in their homes."
