Sam Bennett has become the first Irishman in 31 years to claim the Green jersey at the Tour de France.
The Carrick-on-Suir native finished third on today’s fifth stage, which was won by Wout van Aert.
The Quick-Step rider now leads the sprint race and takes the green jersey from Peter Sagan.

Adam Yates is the new man in yellow it's after Frenchman Julian Alaphilippe was docked 20 seconds for taking a drink during the last 20km of the race.
Sam Bennett is the first Irish rider since Waterford's Sean Kelly to don the green jersey for Ireland.
