Former Ireland rugby international Gary Halpin has died suddenly aged 55.
The Kilkenny-born prop won 11 caps for Ireland, featuring in two World Cups.
He famously scored a try against New Zealand in the 1995 tournament.
Halpin spent the majority of his career with London Irish before stints with Harlequins and Leinster.
He also represented Ireland in the 1987 World Athletics Championship in the hammer event.
After retirement, Halpin worked as a teacher in England before working at the Cistercian College in Roscrea, Co Tipperary, where he was the head of boarding.
Leinster Rugby paid said they were “deeply saddened” to hear of Halpin's death.
