Dungarvan pub The Moorings is among the Lonely Planet list of the 20 best pubs in Ireland.
The world-renowned website announced its updated list today. It included pubs across the island which are best known "for pints, music and the time of your life."
The Moorings has also been highlighted for its seafood chowder and outdoor courtyard bar which is bordered by the castle walls of King John’s Castle.
Owner of The Moorings Maria Quinn Nolan said they're over the moon. She said all their customers had been contacting them to say they had heard the news.
She told WLR News that she had no idea they were in the running for the list, " a girl called Una contacted us recently for photos of The Moorings but I didn't know any more about it as we send out those photos to lots of people, we didn't know. The first I knew about it was when one of the customers let me know."
