Vigil to take place following Dunmore East tragedy

Bishop Alphonsus Cullinan, Bishop of Waterford and Lismore, has announced that a prayer vigil will be held at the Cathedral of the Most Holy Trinity in Waterford after the tragic death of a young boy in Dunmore East.

The vigil will also offer prayers for the grieving family and the wider community affected by what he describes as a "heartbreaking loss".

The prayer vigil is scheduled to take place tomorrow (Saturday) at 7pm at the Cathedral on Barronstrand Street.

Bishop Cullinan extends an invitation to all members of the community to join in "solidarity and support during this difficult time".

In expressing his deep condolences, Bishop Cullinan stated, “The loss of a young life is a profound tragedy that deeply affects us all. As a community, it is important for us to come together in prayer and reflection to offer comfort and strength to the family and friends of the young boy who has left us too soon.”
