It is planned that the 2020 Imagine Arts Festival will go ahead in October. The organising committee is working hard at restructuring parts of the 10 day celebration in Waterford City, so that it can be done safely.  The programme is expected to run across venues from October 16th to 25th. I chatted to Festival Manager Nora Boland about all their plans, including inviting artists to submit work for commission...
A Europe-wide initiative which ran in Waterford in 2019 will return over the summer, operating under social distancing guidelines.
Murals for Communities sees six mural artists facilitate workshops with community and businesses groups, resulting in artwork across three cities-Waterford, Heerlen in the Netherlands and Kaunas in Lithuania.
The chosen community groups from Waterford who will take part this year are Killure Bridge Nursing Home, Vita Community Hub which is part of the Rehab Group, and the Aiseirí Addiction Treatment Centre. One of Ireland's best known street artists Aches will be the Irish representative and he'll work remotely with the community groups.
I found out more from Co-ordinator Cristina Ciampaglione
