"There is a massive stigma around [alcohol dependency] and a lot of people are afraid to go to meetings", says Moira, who is involved with Waterford Alcoholics Anonymous.

This coming weekend (27th, 28th, and 29th of January), Waterford AA's Area Convention will take place in the Tower Hotel in Waterford City.

Séamus and Moira from the organisation joined Damien Tiernan in studio to talk about the upcoming convention and to share their own journeys with alcohol dependency.

In an insightful conversation, they delve into the barriers to seeking help but the immense benefits there are to doing so.
