It took 23 years, but Waterford now has a back-to-back senior elite boxing champion.

The Ballybeg native earned his second senior honour, and defended his title when he beat Jason Clancy last weekend.

It was a clean sweep on the judge's scorecards, and now Cassidy is likely to head to the European Championships with Olympic Qualification on his mind.
