The funeral of Waterford born music promoter Vince Power took place today (Saturday) in his beloved Newtown, Kilmacthomas.

Vince died in London on March 9th aged 76.

Chief celebrant at today's Requiem Mass was Fr Brendan Crowley assisted by Fr Garrett Desmond and Deacon Brendan Gallagher.

Luminaries from the music world were in attendance, including Mary Coughlan who sang a special rendition of 'The Parting Glass'.

Vince was laid to rest in the adjoining cemetery.

WLR's Kieran Foley attended the service and spoke to family, friends, neighbours and colleagues of Vince.
