For the second time in their proud history, St. Declan's College, Kilmacthomas are celebrating after claiming glory in the All-Ireland 'D' PPS Senior Camogie Championship Final.

Twelve years on from winning the same competition in 2011, the mid-county school reigned supreme in Sunday's exciting decider as they overcame a gallant Scoil Mhuire, Ballinasloe by three points (1-10 to 2-4).

A Kaci Brazil goal early on gave St. Declan's the ideal start as they held a 1-5 to 1-1 lead at the change of ends.

The 2nd-half was tight and tense as both sides battled hard, the Galway champions reduced the deficit to a point at one stage but it was St. Declan's who finished strongly to land the title.

Niamh Rockett (joint-manager with Catherine Walsh) was captain the last time St. Declan's lifted the title, a nice stat to have for the Waterford all-star who also got on the score sheet as the Déise made a winning start to their Division 1B National league campaign last weekend.

After the final whistle on Sunday in Johnstown, Co. Kilkenny, St. Declan's midfield duo of captain Bevin Bowdren (who hit four frees) and Niamh Hally spoke to WLR Sport on what was a special day for the school, congratulations to all involved!
