Blues Start Final Weekend of Pre Season in Style

Waterford FC 3 Treaty United 2

Waterford FC kicked off their final weekend of pre-season with a win over First Division Treaty United at the RSC.

New signing Maleace Asamoah, who was only revealed as a loan signing from Fleetwood earlier in the afternoon, announced himself in style with two excellent crosses that produced goals for the home side and he was involved in everything good from the Blues.

The opening goal came after twelve minutes when he slipped a wonderful ball through for Ben McCormack who got to the end line before firing a low ball across the goal where Conor Parsons touched it home.

Three minutes later, another Asamoah through ball found Barry Baggley but he crashed his shot off the crossbar and Corey Chambers had to use his legs to block McCormack's follow up.

The lead was doubled on 24 minutes when a McCormack corner landed in the centre of the six yard box where Padraig Amond got the vital touch.

Treaty pulled one back on 34 minutes when a long throw in was not cleared properly and Lee Devitt fired home. but the Blues restored their two goal advantage a minute later when another Asamoah cross was met by the diving Triallist 3 and he powered the header past Chambers.

Keith Long changed things up at half time with six changes and the Blues had a chance to increase their lead on 58 minutes when Kacper Skwierczynski was pulled down by Oisin O Reilly but Triallist 3 missed the resulting spot kick as Chambers dived low to his right to save.

Conor Carew pulled another back for Treaty on 72 minutes with an excellent thirty yard free kick after Kacper Radkowski had pulled back Nicodem Kozlowski as he fired home off the underside of the crossbar.
