Winners of county final to face Tipperary champions in Munster

The winners of this weekend's Waterford Senior Hurling Championship final between Ballygunner and Mount Sion will take on the Tipperary champions at provincial level.

The draws for the 2022 AIB Munster Club Hurling and Football Championships were made on Monday night (September 5th) at a meeting of the Munster GAA CCC.

The champions of Waterford will have a home game against the Tipperary winners on the weekend of November 5th and 6th in what will be the Munster Quarter-Final.

The winner of that game will face an away clash to the champions of Limerick on the weekend of November 19th and 20th, while in the other semi-final, the Clare champions will be home to the victors of the Cork club scene.

The Munster Club Hurling Championship final will be played on the weekend of the 4th of December.

The 2022 Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship Final is pencilled in for Sunday October 23rd so the Gunners and Sion are a long way off knowing who they're facing.

Waterford's intermediate champions, Ballysaggart or Ballygunner, will go on to take on Tipperary winners away from home on the weekend of November 5th and 6th - while it will a different story for junior winners, Colligan or Ballygunner, who are guaranteed a place in the Munster semi-final, against either Tipperary or Cork opposition. If the Tipp champions get through, the Waterford champions will have a home draw in the semi-final.

In the footballing equivalent, the Deise's county champions will be tasked with a trip to take on the champions of Clare in the Munster quarter-final on the second weekend of November.

The winner will take on the Kerry champions in the semi-final, and if the Waterford winners progress they will be at home in the last four.

The other semi-final will see the Limerick champions at home to the winners of the Cork and Tipperary quarter-final clash.

At intermediate level, Waterford's representative will be away to the Tipperary winners on the weekend of November 5th and 6th. That game is again a quarter-final clash.

The winner will meet the Cork champions in the semi-final. At junior football level, Waterford's winner goes on to take on the Limerick champions away from home on the 13th of November with a place in the semi-final at home to the Kerry kingpins also up for grabs.
