Waterford take on Clare tomorrow in a huge match in the Munster Senior Hurling Championship.

Both sides will be looking for two points that could book their place in the All-Ireland series, as well as the upcoming provincial final.

Waterford are unbeaten so far while Clare have lost to Limerick and defeated Cork.

Former Deise captain Brian Flannery says this is a massive opportunity for Waterford - but it will be an incredibly difficult task.

"Waterford have a huge amount to play for. No matter what happens, Waterford are still in the championship, and have a huge amount to play for. I think at this stage, Waterford are more looking upwards. They're looking at Sunday's game against Clare in Ennis. Be it a difficult one, it's an opportunity - win it, and you're in a Munster final. There's a huge amount of positivity and that's the confidence that comes from winning games, good performances and putting points on the board."

Flannery says Cusack Park is one of the most difficult venues you can play in.

"Waterford are still in an extremely good place, and playing great hurling. Great scores, goals, points - they've played a really exciting brand of hurling. That's what excites the Waterford public. It's the reason you had sold-out crowds at both games at Walsh Park. I know there's a huge amount of demand for tickets, and there's a lot of people planning to make the trip, and buses going from Waterford. It promises to be another brilliant occasion, and Ennis is one of those arenas or stadiums that has a bit of mystique about it. People say it's a hard place to go. Well, it bloody well is a hard place to go."

Clare hammered Waterford in last year's championship, but the Deise have since turned a corner. The former Mount Sion man believes the players will be looking to make amends for last year's visit to Ennis.

"We haven't got a wonderful record up there, it's almost certain to be a sell-out again and it promises to be a brilliant occasion. Players let themselves down a little bit on that occasion. They have so much more to play for now, they're in such a better place."
