Three stars of the Waterford SHC

With one game left, the Lár Na Páirce panel have picked their stars of 2023 Waterford SHC.

"The best club hurler in the county at the moment is Dessie Hutchinson," said Tony Ryan of the Dungarvan Observer. "He was fantastic again last week. He gave a pass from around the halfway line to Kevin Mahony and by the time Mahony hit the ball across, Dessie was in front of the goal."

A Passage player caught the eye of Mac Dara Mac Donncha from the Dungarvan Leader. "For a one-man display, Liam Flynn really gave a captain's performance against Lismore. He scored six points from centre forward and they were six great points. For me, very few players stood up where you'd say 'he should get a chance on a county panel'. Seanie Callaghan is one that I think will probably get a call-up. By and large, the senior championship has been a bit disappointing."

Tony Ryan: Dessie Hutchinson (Ballygunner), Peter Hogan (Ballygunner), Gavin O'Brien (Roanmore), Reuben Halloran (De La Salle)
