Twitter Thursday is always worth checking out as Ollie is joined by Sean Defoe who casts his eye over the stranger happenings on Twitter that never fail to amaze and entertain.

Heart to Heart

Among the trending moments on Twitter was the story of a man in the United States who has become the first person in history to receive a heart transplant from a genetically modified pig.David Bennett, 57, is doing well three days after the experimental seven-hour procedure in Baltimore. The transplant was considered the last hope of saving Mr Bennett's life, though it is not yet clear what his long-term chances of survival are.

"It was either die or do this transplant," Mr Bennett explained a day before the surgery. "I know it's a shot in the dark, but it's my last choice," he said. Doctors at the University of Maryland Medical Center were granted a special dispensation by the US medical regulator to carry out the procedure, on the basis that Mr Bennett - who has terminal heart disease - would otherwise have died.

Spitting Image

Elsewhere following an appearance on the news by MP Michael Fabricant social media has been in a frenzy convinced that this is not a real person but actually a character played by comedian Harry Enfield.
Fabricant was talking about the latest allegations that there was a party in Downing Street in May 2020 that broke Covid rules. The MP for Lichfield says the alleged No 10 garden party "wasn't spreading the disease because these were people who were already working closely together"
Twitter seemed more concerned about Fabricant's resemblance to a comedy character than the political story, resulting in "Harry Enfield" trending on Twitter. Some people thought it was Harry Enfield playing Fabricant. Others thought it was Harry Enfield playing Boris Johnson.

Is that mike on ?

Two Australian news anchors went viral  for questioning the potential mistakes on Novak Djokovic's visa application, seemingly unaware that their off-air dressing down of the tennis legend was being recorded. "Whatever way you look at it, Novak Djokovic is a lying, sneaky ass----," Melbourne's 7NEWS anchor Rebecca Maddern said. "He is an ass----," Mike Amor responded. Maddern continued, saying, “It's unfortunate that everybody else messed up around him. But, to go out when you know you're COVID positive. Well, I don't even think he was COVID positive."

Judges rejected a challenge by the unvaccinated tennis star after the government cancelled his visa on "health and good order" grounds. Djokovic said he was "extremely disappointed" but accepted the ruling. He has left on a flight to Dubai. It marks the end of a 10-day saga, in which the Serb fought to stay to defend his title in the Australian Open. Djokovic has since been deported after losing a last minute court bid to stay in Australia.
