A pre-application consultation has been lodged with An Bord Pleanála over plans for a proposed 15-turbine wind farm at Scart Mountain, four kilometres north east of Cappoquin, in West Waterford.
Futurenergy Ireland has submitted a Strategic Infrastructural Development proposal, as a pre application consultation, to An Bord Pleanála on 24th April, 2024.
An Bord Pleanála has stated that the consultation has yet to be concluded and there is no indication of a decision date.
The proposed development is expected to have wind turbines with an overall tip height between 180 metres and 185 metres; widening of certain local roads and associated site works; and one permanent 110 kilavolt electrical substation.
Futurenergy has held community clinics for the public to learn about the project, the latest consultation event was held in Dungarvan last November.
