1. Two men who died in Waterford hostel named

The two men who were found dead at a Waterford hostel yesterday have been named locally as Paul Crotty and Mark Lyons from County Waterford. Their bodies were discovered at McGwire’s men’s hostel on Bath Street in Waterford City at 4:45 pm yesterday evening.

2. Waterford teenagers in hospital following horror crash

Five teenagers are being treated in Cork University Hospital for serious injuries following a road accident on Thursday night.  Three males and two females in their teens were involved in the crash in Co Cork, WLR News understands at least some of the teenagers are from county Waterford.

3. Met Éireann issues nationwide warning for gusts up to 100km/h

A status yellow wind warning has been issued for the entire country. Met Éireann said gusts of up to 100km/h are expected with a risk of coastal flooding. The warning is valid until 6am on Saturday morning.

4. Fergal Horgan set to ref the hurling final

The GAA has confirmed the referees and match officials for the 2020 GAA Hurling All-Ireland Senior and Joe McDonagh Cup Finals with Fergal Horgan confirmed as the referee for the senior final, while Liam Gordon from Galway will officiate in the Joe McDonagh game between Antrim and Kerry.
